30 Wishes!

The Joy FM is a radio station known for playing the best Christian contemporary music in North, Central, and Southwest Florida and Georgia. The station began 30 years ago in 1986. For their 30th anniversary, they wanted to grant 30 wishes to local listeners who are currently struggling or who “just need a little joy sent their way!”

We could not have been more honored when asked to participate in filming each wish! It has been such an uplifting experience for our team!

We would love to highlight Wish #12, Cathy who is a mother of four. She recently separated from her husband then two months later was diagnosed with breast cancer. By the way, Hope 4 Cancer is a great center. They not only offer hope for those diagnosed with breast cancer, but it is a place that offers professional medical guidance, balanced with cutting edge non-toxic therapies. She has an amazing group of close friends who sent in her story to the JoyFM. They had all planned a trip to Paris for their 40th birthdays, but with Cathy’s chemotherapy they unfortunately had to cancel their trip. Because of this, the Joy FM granted Cathy and her friends a Girls Weekend away at St. Pete Beach!

Another one of our favorite wishes was the stories of Stephen and Grayson’s, Wish #23. Stephen is 30 years old and suffers from cerebral palsy. Grayson is a 9 year old boy who suffers from Humoral Immunodeficiency Disease and has been in and out of the hospital since birth. Stephen and Grayson both share a love for sports and the Tampa Bay Rays. For their wish the JoyFM granted Stephen the chance to spend an inning with the announcers and Grayson the chance to deliver the game ball to the pitcher’s mound! They also received personalized jerseys, along with much more. I think it’s safe to say, this wish was a home run!
